A system that works when communication fails during an earthquake

Problem

In major earthquakes, base stations and networks collapse during the most critical first hours; the link between someone under rubble and a search team breaks exactly when it is needed most.

Solution

We are working on a communication and alerting architecture that reduces dependence on the network. Technical details will be shared as the project matures.
